Stuck in bed?

Stuck in bed? Staring at the same four walls for days on end can be sheer hell but here’s some suggestions to try and make the experience easier to bear:

1. Try to find a hobby you can still do, it may be cross stitch, making cards, listening to audio books or music, stroking your cat or dog. Make sure you do something each day you enjoy.

2. Too weak to be yelling for your Mam or Dad every time you’d like a drink? How about investing in either a battery operated doorbell or a two way radio. You can keep the doorbell whilst the ringer is kept downstairs. Press the bell and voila, room service!

3. Try and get a copy of Boots Disability Catalogue. This contains lots of useful, energy saving gadgets and offers home delivery or in-store collection. They sell wheelchairs, microwave hot bottles, kettle tippers, special glasses so you can still read comfortably whilst laid prone.

4. Cheer up your room with a plant or flowers, not only something different to look at but also good feng-shui.

5. How about a pet, providing you can find some lovely, obliging person to look after it. Pet therapy is renowned for raising spirits and in turn helping our failed immune systems. Cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs can all be house trained. Some more successfully than others!

6. How about buying a lava or glitter lamp to turn your room into a relaxing haven. It also gives you something else to watch if the T.V is too much.
