ME North East have received many enquiries in recent weeks regarding the Reverse Therapy treatment now available from a number of practitioners.Dr David Mickel and Dr John Eaton first developed this treatment method for CFS/ME in 2002.They both offer Reverse Therapy and train other practitioners but no longer work together.

Reverse Therapy accepts ME as a real physical illness and suggest the cause is by a dysfunction of the Hypothalamus Gland. The treatment is described as a “talk therapy” and works on the principle that the body-mind has an inherent intelligence that exists at a cellular level. It is more controversial in claiming to CURE 86% of patients using this talk based therapy.

We do not recommend any treatments, but have looked into this very carefully as we are aware a number of people are undergoing treatment in our region. It is not a cheap option – sessions cost around £80 per visit and can involve a number of treatments. Having read books written by both Dr Mickel and Dr Eaton and received reviews from a number of people, the response has been “we want to know more”.
