I hope you all got through Christmas and New Year without catching the
numerous colds and bugs that are still going around. You can’t beat
wearing more layers and the occasional scarf around the house to keep
warm!
Our first social activity for 2006 was an enjoyable Saturday afternoon
in January ‘glass painting with Carol’. A few new faces, a
lot of steady hands required and a great attention to detail needed! My
final piece a definite gift for Mothers Day! I
hope you can make our next ME Club – ‘Pizza Night with Friends’,
I also hope that you will all have the opportunity to read our planned
activities during National ME Awareness Week in May. Over the last few
months Sheila and I have been working hard to organise the Charity Barrow
in the Metro Centre and the Tyne Bridge Abseil on Sunday 14th May. Im
sure there must be a number of you who can persuade their family members
or friends to take the challenge! All money raised during that week will
be going towards organised activities, events and workshops for our Young
Peoples Group. So please even if you can’t support at these two
events think about what fundraising activity you could do yourself from
your home. We would be delighted to give you any literature or posters
you may require to further enhance the cause.
I know that a number of you have already been in contact with me offering
to make greetings cards which we could sell on the Charity Barrow so a
‘Big Thank You’. If anyone else would like to supply some
cards that would be fantastic. We are allowed to sell tangible products
and also hold a tombola.
The next time I write I hope to be updating you on all the success stories
of National ME Awareness Week 2006!
Take care and please get in touch if you can help in any way.
