Many of you will be aware, that we have no “designated” services for young people suffering from ME/CFS in the North East region. Some of you have been extremely fortunate to have felt supported and understood – some unfortunately, not so! Hopefully, this will change in the future.

The Northern CFS/ME Clinical Network, has commissioned Dr. Esther Crawley (Consultant Paediatrician, Clinical Senior Lecturer – Bristol University, Chair of the National CFS/ME Collaborative & Clinical Lead for the Bath & Bristol CFS/ME Service) to work with current local services to provide training in managing the condition and increase awareness. I have attended all the trainings and been part of a number of clinical consultations in the area. I also visited Bath in March to see how Dr. Crawley runs her very successful service for young people. We plan to host “An Evening with Dr. Crawley” on Wednesday 11th June to give you the opportunity to hear what she has to say and ask any questions. I am sure you will find it very informative and gain a greater insight into managing the condition.
