Funds received from members, families and supporters
Harmony Youth Choir Cramlington
My name is Ellen Byerley and I receive your regular newsletter after having support from your charity since I was diagnosed back in 2008. I sing in a local choir and we have recently had our annual concert in which we have raised £300 which we would like to donate to your charity. We decided upon this charity as in the last year another teenager in our choir has been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome after having glandular fever. We also chose this charity in our annual concert as we wanted to make more people aware of Chronic Fatigue and its effects.
Donation in Memory of Bryan Stubbs
9th March 1944 - 19th October 2016
We say a fond farewell to our founding Chairman Bryan Stubbs.
We are very grateful for the generosity of family and friends who contributed, and raised £360.
Bryan was born and raised in North Yorkshire, farming family stock, healthy and robust. He was a long distance haulage driver for most of his working life but struck down by ME he had to retire too ill to work in the early 1990's.
He joined the ME Association and became a Trustee of this national charity whilst at the same time set up a regional group in the North East. In 2000 he led our charity to independence and remained chairman for many years as we developed and grew. He remained a loyal trustee and participated in meetings and events up until his diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma last year.
Bryan leaves a wife Jennifer, 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
A gentle giant and a gentleman.
He is sadly missed.
Donation from Yoga, Meditation and Therapy Space in Saltburn
With funds raised from donations at monthly gatherings, the group kindly donated £200 to support the work of ME North East.
Philip, a member of the group and a Trustee of ME North East, received the cheque on our behalf.
Grateful thanks to all concerned.
Donation in Memory of Eleanor Moyse
27th June 1932 - 9th October 2016
We are very grateful for the kindness and generosity of family and friends who contributed and raised £238.80.
Staff at ME North East had the pleasure of meeting Eleanor with her daughter and grand-daughter, and we will continue to work with Gill and Jessica.
We offer our condolences at this sad time.
